halloween 2012

so yes I know its now the middle of november and almost thanksgiving
but... i am going to post our halloween fun we had
and try to catch up from the last few weeks

we did the traditional pumpkin carving as usual this year
.. except for miss jo had to do painting
which she loved every second of until she decided
to paint her eyeball!

halloween day we were still putting together our costumes
and then had our annual family halloween costume party
last year we started our family costume party and
it is now a forever thing because it's just too funny
what crazy costumes this family comes up with.
this year i was the mean one and played a
TRICK or Treat prank on some of the kids
i blind folded them and gave them things to eat
arm pit hair..(chocolate covered shredded wheat)
ear wax..(mini marshmallows with caramel)
boogers..(shredded coconut, lime gelatin, condensed milk)
and then my sis britt and i had a great idea to make the last thing
a trick....
ears....and they were really chocolate covered onion halfs that looked
like chocolate covered apples
it was disgusting and i was gagging just watching them eat
them without knowing what it was
but at least they were all good sports about it and i got my payback...
i was up at 5 am puking my guts out from getting the flu and
had to miss out on my weekend trip i had planned to salt lake :(
ding dong me forgot to take pictures of the food and them eating it
so you're just going to have to imagine how gross it all looked!! :)

shopping with jo

today andi and i went out to idaho falls to do some shopping for her birthday party
she was such a good little side kick, like usual, but today i noticed how grown up she is getting
kinda made me sad but also made me laugh because she has such a personality
i am so glad she is well behaved and can just go with me wherever we go and
not have to be constantly entertained.

funnies from today:

she thinks dressing rooms are potties... i don't know where she ever thought this one up (maybe the whole shutting the door taking clothes off... i don't know!) so as i am trying some pants on she sits there and asks me, and of course it's loud and others are around, "mom you poo poo?!"

we go to joann's and are at the fabric counter getting material cut and the guy asks what it's for and i tell him for her birthday party that is going to be a mermaid theme, or as jo calls it bubble pinces (princess) so andi starts rattling of some of her jibber jabber to him and then says "my mom a pinces!"

went to petco to look at what their selection was for fish that i am planning on using as part of her party and she was in HEAVEN! she was so excited everything she was saying she was squealing and yelling
it was so cute to watch her run from tank to tank and get so excited over all of them
she is going to love her new pet fish :)

i just love that girl
it's never a dull moment with her and she is the cutest dang side kick there ever was
i ♥ you more than anything jo

thankful day 6

day 6
i am thankful for
my grandma rigby
(or as what we have always called her, grandma m♥)
she just turned 91, lives on her own, and drives her car
my grandpa rigby passed away while my dad was on his mission
so she has been on her own for quite a while
she is a very hard worker and doesn't rest for a second until we make her
she raised 2 kids into amazing people and such hard, dedicated workers
she has always loved and cared about each and everyone of her 8 granddaughters no matter what
she is such a great example to me of being Christ-like
thankful for all of the hours she has spent doing our genealogy work
she made us all books with stories and all sorts of different information of our family history which i will always be thankful for since i didn't ever get the chance to know my grandpa here on earth
i cherish all of the fun memories i have of having sleep overs at grandmas
i will always remember all the tricks we would pull on her and get her going, we were naughty little kids!!
i love her so much and i am so thankful that she has been around for
22 years of my life and also part of andi's life
this last week has been a little down hill for her health wise and we know that she is 91 and unfortunately won't get to be here in person with us forever, but i am thankful for the understanding and comfort of eternal families and that she has lived her life in such a way that we will all be together again
i love you so much grandma and i hope you get feeling better soon ♥

thankful day 4

day 4:
i am thankful for
technology
i am so thankful that i can have light with the flip of a switch, i can watch my shows
and also keep andi entertained with our tv, i can use my computer for a million different things,
i have a phone that i can call sean, my family or anyone else with at anytime of day and anywhere,
i have a car that i can use to take me where we need to be, i have a camera and a phone that takes
photos so i can remember every special and silly moment of jo's life and our lives, i have a washing machine and dish washer and don't have to clean any clothes or dishes by hand, there are TONS more but one last thing that i am so grateful for and have learned to be even more thankful for this year and will have an all new kind of thankfulness for very soon is... email. earlier this year my cousin (and in our family cousins are pretty much our siblings, we have all grown up so close to each other and love each other like brothers and sisters) left to new york to serve a mission for our church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. he will be there until february 2014 and isn't able to call us, we only talk with him through email and letters (he does get to call his family on christmas and mothers day but that's it and it's only for an hour or so) i am so grateful that with the advancement of technology he can go to a computer once a week and write us all to let us know what he is doing and how things are going and with the click of a button it is in our inbox and we can then write him back the same way. last week when the huge storm, sandy, was headed towards new york he was able to email us and let us know he was ok and what they had done to prepare, very very comforting to us here worrying about him!! and now the next 18 months this will be the only way i will be able to talk with my sister, brittnie, who has also made the decision to serve a mission for our church. she will be leaving to the mtc (missionary training center) on november 14th and then headed to jackson, mississippi at the end of the month and will be there until may 2014. i am so so so thankful that i will be able to write her back and forth and have email to make it faster because i am used to talking with her just about everyday and usually more than once. i am so happy and proud of her for making the choice to serve for our church and share the gospel with others that need it in their lives but i am really struggling with knowing i won't be able to just call her up or send her a text or send her funny stuff we're always sending each other. but i will be learning an all new gratitude towards technology and email. and that's what i am thankful for today :)
and now i'm a crying mess!

thankful day 1, 2, 3

i LOVE november!
here's why:
• anniversary ♥
• sean charles birthday
• jo's birthday
• ma & pa's birthdays
• LOTS of birthday celebrating obviously!!
• pie night (i'll tell more about this amazing night in a near future post)
• thanksgiving
• pumpkin pie, turkey, stuffing, mashed taters
• black friday shopping... seriously just watching how serious people take this gives me a good laugh
• fall colors, smells, feelings
• disney on ice for andi's birthday
• the change of season and peoples attitudes
so pretty much novermber is PACKED FULL but it's all tons of fun and so worth all the busyness because it's spent with our family and all the wonderful people i love more then anything
i love the change in seasons that this time of year brings but also the grateful and humble attitude it brings to a lot of people, me included. i love that when i get on different social media sites i see all of my friends and family posting what they are thankful for and makes me so happy to see all the positive and gratefulness rather then the complaining and gripping we unfortunately see most the time. so even though i am thankful all the year around for all my amazing blessings and comforts in my life this month i'm going to post a thankful note every day of the month just to remind me and to feel the joy of the thanksgiving season. (crazy it is november, i'm planning andi's 2 year birthday party, and my husband is going to be 24... time flies when you're having fun i guess :)

Welcome!

welcome to the little jojo journal!! i am andi jo's momma and i want to keep track of all the funny and cute things this cute little almost 2 year old does. she is the love and light of our home and we are SO wrapped around this little girls finger! so along with documenting all the fun things about jo, i am going to write and post about being a stay at home mom, a crafter, a cook (not a good one by any means! actually to be honest everything i cook or bake comes from... pinterest!), a work at home mom, and being a party throwing junkie!
here is a little bit about us, the thompsons:

• he is Sean, i am Whitnie
• we've been married for almost 3 years
(november 7 it will be 3... crazy to think how fast it has gone but at the same time kinda feels like forever!)
• i am SO in love with that guy♥
• we live in the mountains, driggs, idaho to be more specific!
• jo will be 2 on november 23... makes me so sad to see her grow up but at the same time its so fun to watch her grow up and become a girly girl!
• i am SO in love with that girl♥
• i stay at home, work part time from home, a full time mom, a full time wife, part time laundry folder and full time dr pepper drinker
• i am a pining princess: addicted to that dang site!
• i love decorating and crafting
• i love chevron, pink, and sparkles

so following along and check back often! nothing around here is perfect but it's our life and we love it! when i read some other blogs i feel like they must have super powers to be able to have such a clean, organzied house and all the projects they do done and dinner on the table every night but... nope not here not even close! my house isn't always clean and yes there is usually always a pile of laundry that needs folded and a project half done laying out making a mess but it's life and better yet it's our life and we love it.

we keep it real and have fun.

WELCOME! HAPPY TO HAVE YOU HERE!!post signature
